Let's Rock Elmo – The Revolution Begins!

Maybe a better introduction to Lets Rock Elmo would be the "evolution begins" as this years release of Elmo definitely raises the bar in children's toys. No longer will Elmo be just one dimensional like many of his predecessors. This years Lets Rock Elmo is being touted as "the most interactive Elmo ever released". The key word there is "interactive". More and more toy manufacturers are starting to make their toys more interactive with the use of electronics and some basic animatronics. While Hasbro certainly isn't the only toymaker to adopt this strategy, they certainly have raised the bar in regards to what a toy can do.



In this day and age, parents are telling toy makers to produce toys that engage their children and lets them interact with the toy. Hasbro has taken this to heart with the newest Elmo and we'll go over what makes this toy so special in just a bit.



Many toy industry insiders will be keeping a watchful eye when this little rocking Elmo is released in the fall of 2011 for a variety of reasons. One of the biggest reasons is to see if the price point of this years Elmo will adversely affect sales. After all, Elmo will debut with a higher price than most parents are used to seeing on Sesame Street products. But these will also be the parents who want the interactivity and a toy that engages. Will these parents be willing to open up their wallets and plunk down the higher price for what they have been clamoring for? Well, in a matter of months we'll be able to see if Lets Rock Elmo creates the buying frenzy that many expect.



So what makes Let's Rock Elmo so special? Why did Elmo create such a stir at the American Toy Fair that was held in New York City earlier in the year?



To start off with, Elmo just plain "Rocks"! He sings, he plays his instrument and he interacts with your child in ways that literally will have you smiling from ear to ear when you see him! He knows what instrument you give him to play and then he'll invite your child to use one of the other instruments. OMG! You'll think that some kind of intelligent force has been bottled inside Elmo because in all honesty, he almost seems to come alive.



Elmo will be packaged with 3 instruments when he is released. A set of drums, a tambourine and a microphone. If you want to take it a step further, Hasbro will also be releasing 3 additional instruments, a guitar, a keyboard and a larger microphone that will also have the ability to interact with Lets Rock Elmo. Can you say toddler rock band? This is certainly an exciting time for both kids and parents alike.
